Living at Abbeyfield Bromley

Small, non-institutional houses, shared meals, friendly communal sitting rooms and a programme of social activities assure our residents of companionship from fellow residents, staff and volunteers.

Abbeyfield Bromley, founded in 1978, owns two comfortable houses on one site separated by an attractive garden. We can accommodate up to 20 people.

Our residents enjoy two delicious home-cooked meals a day taken with other residents and share homely facilities, which include sitting rooms and dining rooms, a large garden and a summer house. They live in personalised flatlets that they furnish themselves.

All our residents have an agreed support plan and we talk to them regularly about their needs and welfare. We have 24-hour emergency cover and a housekeeper is on site at all times.

Accommodation at Abbeyfield Bromley

Our residents live in their own private one- or two-room flatlet. Their room is centrally heated and fitted with en-suite wash basins, toilets and, in some cases, showers. Each room has a small area so that residents make use of their own kettle and microwave. There are stair-lifts to all floors, and "medic" baths as well as conventional baths and showers.

We welcome visitors at any time. There is a guest room for relatives and friends for short stays.

Our houses are intended for elderly people in reasonable health. You do not have to live locally to apply to live here. We consider applications from all people regardless of their gender, family, financial circumstances, race, colour or religion. But we do give priority to people who are in the greatest need of the housing and care we offer.

Facilities and Services

Our houses are fully equipped for the comfort and safety of elderly people and we make every effort to ensure they are as secure as possible. All the residents’ rooms have audio and visual fire alarms, an emergency call system and an entry phone.

We offer free laundry and cleaning services; residents’ rooms are cleaned thoroughly every two weeks.

We do not provide nursing or personal care, such as washing and dressing, but residents can buy in this service. If, in the future, a resident needs more personal or nursing care, we help them and their sponsor find the right accommodation for them.

If we have room/s free, we offer respite breaks with part-board to non- resident guests. Please call us for more information about this service.
